   It was there when I woke up, looking gently in while its thin, uneven ribbons fluttered in some breeze I couldn't feel, flinging their lively colors around my dank cell. Yellow as bright as lemons, reds and greens like bell peppers and jalapeños.   
   It actually had a mouth. I'm not sure why, but I had never imagined a scarecrow with a facial expression. Sure he had one, though, as brightly hued and inviting as the rest of it but seeming somehow hooded to me, playfully secretive, joke without a punch line. So, I'm gonna be a Canadian.

To study with Judy Loman (one of the best harpists in the world!) at the University of Toronto (which sounds very anti-climactic, but I didn't make it into Curtis, her other school).

I keep moving more and more away from the South. It's fabulous. Next thing you know, I'll be doing grad school over in Europe.

In the mean time, I've got a prom date from a different state who I've never met in person flying up in a couple weeks, I've made lots of headway on my Japanese class, I'm still Interlochen-ing it up, I'm doing a ballet with a trio...

Absolutely no art.

I'll work on art this summer. I'm sure of that. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I miss it A LOT. I just haven't had the time. All my time is spent practicing, working on homework, or working out.

I'll rest when I die. Until then, I'm on a mad race to the finish.
